Our vision is to develop and maintain world class community coaching & facilities that will see our communities thrive, our economy grow and our city area become a place where residents are proud to live, work and play.

www.merlinwoods.ie is promoting a new Integrated sports and coaching learning campus for Doughiska, Roscam, Ardaun, Ballybane, Castlegar, Ballybrit, Brierhill, Parkmore and Merlin Woods catchment areas.

In the last 4 years an explosion in participation at the Doughiska campus in multisport and healthy activities has started.

With the help of the ARD Cumasu family resource centre , the DRA Community development organisation, Galway City Council and Galway sports partnership we have made wonderful strides in our original strategy of increasing participation in sports within these communities.

Successfull partnerships with Medtronic soccer, Castlegar Athletics, Merlin Woods & Brierhill schools , the Good Shepherd parish have had a huge impact on community development in the area.

2019 will see our most ambitious strategic plan yet for the area.

Coaching, learning , participation campus with facilities and activities spread across the community.

World Class facilities for a world class community , Regional Gymnastics arena, Pump tracks, Athletics Track, Field sports, public swimming pool, Orienteering, fitness & cultural spaces with a coaching school campus.
